Introduction:
Nature is where we feel free, connected and at peace. Nature is where we see beauty, perfection and life. Nature is where we find answers, simplicity and wisdom. We always find our way to nature. No matter where we are, we look for that connection. Nature completes us and gives us a sense of belonging. We seek a deep-rooted bond and affinity with something greater than us.
Nature helps us feel grounded.
We live in a society where our minds are always busy, always thinking, always analyzing. Even when we are in bed trying to fall sleep, our minds cannot stop. We need to give ourselves permission every day to recharge our bodies with nature’s healing energy. Going barefoot in nature allows us to restore our energy and helps us bring our body to its natural state. This gives us the opportunity to reconnect, find balance and ground all the energy that is stuck in our brain. Grounding is something that we can do in our backyard or anywhere where we can find natural ground. We can also ground ourselves by hugging a tree for a few minutes.

Nature helps us detoxify:
Breathing in fresh air is a key component to our health and well-being. Pollution is everywhere, but unfortunately it is more concentrated in confined spaces, due to poor ventilation. Being indoors for long periods of time, can prevent us from getting fresh air quality. No matter where we are or where we live, we can always find a piece of nature. A place where we can step outside and enjoy a deep breath of fresh air. Nature has higher levels of oxygen, which helps to clean our lungs and get rid of toxins that accumulate in our bodies.
Nature helps us heal:
The amount of stress that we have in our lives can affect our physical, mental and emotional health. A little bit of stress is okay. However, living in a fight or flight state most of the time can be very exhausting for our bodies. We need to allow ourselves some time to disconnect from our busy lives. This will help us be more productive and less overwhelmed. When we mindfully connect with a natural atmosphere; we restore our bodies, energize our souls and refresh our minds. Being in direct exposure to sun for a few minutes a day can reset our circadian rhythm, which can help us relax and improve our sleep.
Nature is our biggest teacher:
- Nature is our best friend.
- Nature is always there for us.
- Nature listens, without judging.
- Nature welcomes us without expecting.
- Nature offers us calmness and tranquility.
- Nature teaches us to believe in something greater than ourselves.
- Nature shows us how everything has a beginning and an end.
- Nature allows us to walk its paths, its mountains and rivers.
- Nature protects us and gives us shelter.
- Nature shows us how to be strong.
- Nature provides us with bountiful beauty.

Water
Teaches us to keep going and let go. To flush away our worries and concerns. To learn to slow down, but to never stop. To be persistent when necessary. To be flexible and adapt to change. To flow through life with ease.
“Water is the driving force of all nature.”
Leonardo da Vinci
Flowers
Teach us to be unique. To appreciate our own beauty and admire the beauty of others. To be graceful, generous and gentle. To not hurry, to grow and bloom at our own pace. To treat everyone equally and with kindness.
“If we could see the miracle of a single flower clearly, our whole life would change.”
Buddha
Teaches us that nothing lasts forever, to accept our challenges with determination. To stay in harmony no matter the outcome. To move on when the time is right. To understand that changes is good.
“The sky is a reminder that many things are possible even though they seem beyond our reach.”
Brandon Royal
The intention of being in nature is not always to walk, hike or exercise. It is simply being present and connecting with source, watching the immensity and the perfection of nature, listening to the whispers, smelling the fresh air and
the flowers around us, enjoying the peacefulness of the air. Finding a place to be calm, to let go, to observe and to learn.
